Cloudy blond color. Herbal aroma (rosemary, myrth and more…), alcohol. Malty taste, simple, with a light herbal touch. A pity, the bottle is so nice.

Bottle. Hazy orange colour with a white head. Fruity and spicy aroma. Sweet malty and spicy flavor. Lots of ginger. Light dry finish with hints of alcohol.

(Bottle 75 cl) Hazy amber golden with a creamy, off-white head. Rather neutral aroma with a touch of yeast. Full-bodied, sweetish and malty with spicy notes - ginger really stands out. Almost no bitterness. 270106

An unclear orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet spicy - with coriander standing out. The flavor is very sweet and spicy with ginger being very noticable. The alcohol also makes a light notice of itself.

750mL bottle shared with tiggmtl, Muzzlehatch, Olivier and the drain on 11/5/05. I just started cracking up when I clicked on this beer and "Scottish Ale" came up. The whole time we were drinking this, we all kept guessing and wondering what the hell we were drinking. We had come to the conclusion that it was a Belgian Dark Strong. So BSA/scottish ale, tomato/tomatoe, whatever. Hmm, and now I’m noticing that this is an 8.5 abv Scottish ale. Maybe a touch high for a scottish ale!
So anyhow, the beer poured a rusty copper-auburn with some deeper tan-beige hues and a rapidly fizzilng beige head that does not create lacing. Still and unfiltered body is not exactly appealing to the eye, but at least it’s unfiltered. Aroma delivers some delicious stewed carrots and yams with a touch of candi sugar sweetness, dry earthy notes and a dirty, lightly metallic yeastiness. Flavor delivers the veggies promised in the nose, with a watery, oxidized, loose texture, dirty/sour/spoiled notes, raw hay and farm soil. Traces of candy-like sweetness and plenty of bland yeast. On the plus side, I didnt find much alcohol apparency. . . .Thanks Stephen, this was a real, er, treat. . . .

Horrible contaminated fluoride lemonade colour with collapsable white head. Horrible mix of citrus, pepper and skunk pee. Rather medicinal acetone malt with no redeeming values. OUACCHHH!

Bottle: Poured a clear light golden colored ale with small white bubbly head with no retention. Aroma is quite weak with some wheat that is discernable and light spices. Taste is somewhat refreshing but lack spices, wheat and some citrus flavor. Very disappointing and body is way too thin for a wit and I always prefer my wit to be more cloudy/unfiltered.

Bottle: Poured a light yellow beer with medium head and almost no retention. Aroma is slightly hoppy with subtle sweet notes also noticeable. Taste is a bit bland, another pale beer which can mildly enjoyable on a hot summer evening. Probably not as bad as the other reviews in here (maybe the brewery brought some modifications…). Also, tasted more like a pale/golden ale then a pale lager to me.

Bottle: Poured a golden colored ale with a below standard head with almost no retention. Carbonation is very weak and body is average. Aroma is pleasant with floral hops easily distinguishable. Taste is very deceiving with limited hops, lacking sweetness and almost no aftertaste. Overall, this is very uninspiring stuff and probably brewed to satisfy the macro drinkers.

Bottle: Poured a clear dark brown colored beer with a huge head with standard retention. Aroma is a mix of sweet caramel and some spices. Taste is bit lighter then expected with again some sweet caramel and spices coming out quite clearly. Alcohol is well hidden for 9% beer. Overall, this is a very good drink but not sure about this being a scottish ale, seems more like a strong Belgian ale to me. The bottle is extremely cool too with the metal label. Re-rate 2008 (new 330 bottles): The bottle that I drank was full of DMS and defintely a lot worse then the one I had three years ago.
