Description
The first real malting statute was confirmed by the municipal council of Iglau, as the town of Jihlava was called till 1948, in 1579. In 1859, all 123 owners of brewing rights in the town and surrounding villages joined in a new brewery, the present Jihlava Brewery. The brewery in Jihlava was opened in 1861, but the brewery considers the year 1860 as the year of its incorporation. From its incorporation the brewery had mainly German owners. After WWII it was nationalised and then privatised in 1995. In 2008 the almost bankrupt brewery was bought by the Pivovary Lobkowicz group. Under the new owners the brewery returned to the production of beer according to old original recipes.

On tap in a restaurant, Hloupý Honza Hostinec, in Prague. Lobkowicz beers were the house beers here. Deep and clear green colour, off-white head with a greenish hue. Moderate herbal aroma, nice. Herbal flavour, slightly sweet. Okay.

Had this at Prague Beer Museum at Namasti Miru as Lobkowicz Zelene. Asked at Lobkowicz - same beer as this one. Looks very strange, green in the glass, small head. Mild spicy aroma. Starts mild, malty, a bit moldy-grasy. Sweetish-grasy finish. Okay.
