Description
The first real malting statute was confirmed by the municipal council of Iglau, as the town of Jihlava was called till 1948, in 1579. In 1859, all 123 owners of brewing rights in the town and surrounding villages joined in a new brewery, the present Jihlava Brewery. The brewery in Jihlava was opened in 1861, but the brewery considers the year 1860 as the year of its incorporation. From its incorporation the brewery had mainly German owners. After WWII it was nationalised and then privatised in 1995. In 2008 the almost bankrupt brewery was bought by the Pivovary Lobkowicz group. Under the new owners the brewery returned to the production of beer according to old original recipes.

I think I had this one before, just can’t seem to find the notes. 0.5 l bottle from Pivoteka, Zagreb. Shared with lovely Anja. Hazy golden, off-white head. Perfumed malty nose, dry fruits and floral aroma. Sweet and strong, but a little fake. Light body, medium carbonation, light sweet finish. Didn’t like it.

Szűretlen, de erőteljesen mar, sokadik korsó után már egy gyomormossással helyettesíthető.

Tap @ Telc, a szemközti restauracébe. Igazi koszos kis csehó volt, züllőtt alakokkal és azoknak való sörrel.

Clear golden / amber pour with medium-sized, soapy white head. Smell is very malty with additional corn and grains. Medium body. Softly carbonated with watery texture. Taste is alcoholic bitter. Aroma of malts, lots of malts, yeast, corn and grains. Decent presence of alcohol. Mouthfeel is sweet and malty, light caramel presence and a bit of alcohol burn on the tongue. Regular finish. Overall, a bit disappointed with this one.
