On tap at the brewery, thanks to Shaun. Pours a lightly hazy, rich copper-gold with a white head. Smells just fantastic, lots of citrus and pine. Delicious flavor, plenty of bitterness of mango, orange and pineapple, along with some resinous pine, and balanced by some caramel and honey malts. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. More citrus hops to finish, lots of grapefruit, nice sweetness. Faintly dry, with long-lasting hops. Excellent.

Bottle at Kernel Brewery tasting. It pours golden orange, with a thin foamy white head. The nose is tart orange, tangerine, wet wood, leaves and medicinal notes. The taste is dusty, orange pith, tangerine, medicinal, white bread, cork and light spice, with a citric finish. Medium body and fine carbonation.

Early amateur rate in October 2011... Bottle at Kernel Brewery tasting. It pours hazy light orange, with a foamy white head. The nose is honey, grain, farymward, oatmeal and delicate floral. The taste is lemon, honey, floral, grape, hay, straw, farmyard, bread and light spice, with a dry finish. Medium body, fine foamy carbonation and slightly cloying mouth-feel. Originally a 3.6. Since then have had numerous times in bottles and most recent on keg at BD Aberdeen. More funk, dryness and tartness than my first experience with this beer. Zingy, gooseberry, granny smith apple.and sherbet. Brilliant. Love the balance and drinkability. Subtle, yet good depth. Lovely. Upped eventually to a 4.4

Bottle at Kernel Brewery tasting. It pours golden yellow, with a small white head. The nose is bread, light spice, yeast, lemon sherbet, candy and kiwi fruit. The taste is vanilla ice cream, peach, nectarine, Granny Smith apple, lemon, kiwi, yeast, farmyard and light pepper, with a juicy citrus finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Massively drinkable. 4 Re-drink of batch 6. Much more brett and funk on aroma and tastes. Ties it all together. Fruity and funky. 4.1

Bottle thanks to Steve. Pours clear gold with white head. Great lacing. Nose/taste of yellow flowers, especially dandelions, honey, hay and yeast. Medium body.

750mL bottle, sent from gn0sis (thanks Eric), pours cloudy golden with a big white head. Aroma is very funky, with horse blanket, herbs / spices and yeast. Flavour is quite rustic, with lots of barnyard, loads and loads of yeast, citrus and hay. Quite flavourful for being only 4%.

Growler courtesy GoT. Big dang herbal nose with citrus secondary. Dry crackery malts, light to medium bodied. Lingering piney flavors. A real good drinker. Golder amber with a nice creamy head.

500mL bottle, sent from gn0sis (thanks Eric), pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma of bourbon, liqueur, roasted malt, some dark cocoa and licorice. Flavour features the barrel traits prominently, with bourbon and vanilla upfront, roasted malt and a bit of licorice. A totally different beast than the regular Everett. The bourbon is a little too heavy / dominating, but very good nonetheless.

750mL bottle several times, pours a hazy golden with a big white head. Aroma is quite rustic, lots of farmhouse characteristics, with loads of bretty funk. Flavour is intensely funky with loads of complexity, bringing out elegant bretty funk, citrus notes and farmhouse notes. So many layers of complexity to this with loads of funk. Simply one of the best brett saisons there is

Bottle shared at The Kernel with Evin and Nate, thanks to Shaun. I was focused on enjoying this beer with the Kernel lads so didn’t focus on notes until the dust had settled, as it were. Some recollections, which don’t necessarily do the beer justice: Lovely appearance. Clean. Maximum complexity. Grass, fresh funk. Watching Nate drink this was a treat. He would alternate from complete silence to basically jibberish as he enumerated the myriad ways in which this beer was perfect. I mostly stayed silent, enjoying one of the best beers I have ever tasted.
