Bottle thanks to Leighton & Fergus at the 2016 Cotteridge Convention. It pours darkest brown - black with a medium dirty beige head. The aroma is tangy, earthy, vinous, Granny Smith apple, treacle and toasted sugars. The taste is crisp, tart, earthy, woody, tangy action, chewy malt, Eccles cake, tangy lactic notes and hot salty cheese. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Once I noticed the halloumi like character to this it ruined it for me. Balance isn’t there. Not great....

Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention - 2016 edition. This contribution came from Fergus and me. Pours clear, reddish brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose has light tang, some earth, vague toasted malts. Medium to heavy sweet flavour, with light caramel, leather, earth and brown sugar. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish, very sugary, with restrained funk. Not bad overall, but a bit too sweet.

Bottle thanks to Fergus. It pours dark murky brown with a small beige head. The nose is rich, oily, black tea, smoked action, umami, dark fruits, plum, umami, smoked meat and fruit cake. The taste is rich, bitter, chewy malt, charred wood, toffee, dark fruits, some alcohol boost, smoke, umami and earthy roast with a dry finish. Medium body and average carbonation. A bit weird, but ok. Boost.

Bottle from my Dad found in a deli in Kings Langley, Herts. A hazy golden coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus, passion fruit and some tropical fruit on the nose. Tastes similar, hoppy, passion fruit slightly bitter. Not really going anywhere this one.

Flavour is composed of light base bready malts, mango yougurt, funk, slight smoke, spicy citrus. Bit of an odd one this. Palate is medium light, moderate carbonation, slightly grainy,
