Near opaque dark brown beer, decent bubbly dark tan head but pretty short lived. Smooth palate, decent fine carbonation for the style. Smooth dark chocolate malts, a little creamy dark chocolate. Good fruitiness , the label claims cherry and I get that, I also get the soft coffee - not rich enough for a liqueur, as claimed, but pleasant. Smooth finish brings more mildly tangy fruits. A very well layered and pleasant straight Impy and very pleasant change not to be a BA or Pastry. Stands strong on it's own 2 feet.

Bottle shared at CBJ - picked up from Pigs Ear. Pours black-brown with a modest, foamy tan head. Medium sweet flavour with notes of brown bread, sweet dark mats, some raisins, dates. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, a nip of booze, some toasted sugar, golden raisins. Not bad.

Keg @ Tilt, Birmingham. Deep hazed dark appearance, foamy beige head.Prominent honey attempting to blend with the deep caramel treacle wee heavy base. Good moderately full body, smooth. Think I prefer a wee heavy without the honey, but it's nicely done.
