Cask gravity at the Watford beer festival 2015. Opaque black coloured pour with reddy hues and a lasting cream mid tan head. Aroma is earthy cocoa, woody, light tangy fruits, dark choc and some alcohol presence. Flavour is composed of milky choc, smooth black Malts and notes of toasted coconut. Lactose sugars and light tangy Berry fruits in the finish. Palate is rich and full, creamy in the mouth. Very tasty. The vanilla is noticeable but very well balanced.

(Cask at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 29 Aug 2015) Black colour with brief, foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with funky brett, soy sauce, liquorice, oak wood and a touch of vinegar. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, oak wood, brett, vinegar, a touch of whisky, liquorice and a finish with a mild bitterness and a generous sourness. Full body, with a touch of sweetness. Strong brett character, quite sour. Really odd, and something of an acquired taste. But a nice one.
