Tasting at Leighton’s Flat. Thanks to Fergus. Almost opaque deep amber - brown beer, good pale tan head. Airy palate, decent fine carbonation. Mild dark malts. A distinct bramble fruity thing going on. Fairly tangy. Light dry finish. Pleasant.

Bottle thanks to Fergus. It pours deep brown with a thick tan head. The nose is toasty, cocoa, dark fruits, jammy, dark chocolate and roasted malt. The taste is tart berry, roasted malt, earth, coffee, sour and some acidity with a dry, fruity finish. Medium body, high carbonation and foamy mouth-full. A touch of infection kicking in perhaps. OK.

Bottle shared at Leightons pre Christmas tasting. Chestnut brown / reddy coloured pour with a lasting cream / grey coloured head. Aroma is nutty choc malts with a little berry and bramble fruits. Some powdered choc on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of tart berry fruit, cherry, slight infection. Spritz carbonation, a little sour, little chalky, . Attacks the tongue a little bit. Lingering choc powder and berry fruits. Good job we had this one fairly fresh, in a couple of months it will be undrinkable.

Bottle shared in London. Thanks to Fergus. Pours red-brown with a large, frothy beige head. The nose holds well toasted bread, hints of berries and dirt. Light sweet flavor, a little tangy, some beat leather, tart berries, earth. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderate roast on the finish with sturdy tart blackberries, more earth, more leather. Perhaps a little infection is taking hold here.

Flavour is fruity lemon, grainy cereal, some wheat and grassy rough round the edges hop. Little bit phenolic. Palate is grainy, sweetish, moderate carb. Bit stale.

Bottle shared by Madmitch. Black color, average sized beige to light brown head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, dark fruits, plums, slightly raisins though it’s a bit more sweet imo than normally I get with raisins. Taste malts, dark fruits, plums, slightly alcohol. Medium body and carbonation.
