Bottle at home from Bottle:Shop St Albans. Rich golden orange coloured pour with a light hazew and a lasting off white frothy head. Aroma is grassy, slightly cheesey hop with some bready malts. Flavour is sharp citrus, slight wet grass hops. Big hop bitterness is sharp and slightly rought round the edges. Some hairspray solvent lingers in the finish. Palte is medium light with spritzy carbonation. Tangy citrus finish.

33 cl bottle @ hotel room, Amsterdam. BBE 07.08.2014
Aroma has hops, some tropical fruits, hints of apricot and biscuits. Also some toffee typical to English ales behind the fruity tones. Flavour is somewhat hoppy with peaches, apricot, grapefruit, gooseberry bush and hints of biscuits. A feeling of English hops at the middle of the glass. A bit mellow for an American IPA – an English IPA this must be.

Brett cask @ In De Wildeman. Aroma has licorice and soy sauce - and that is what it looks like too! Also some leathery bretta tones. Flavour has sour cherry juice, some leathery tones from bretta, hints of licorice and soy sauce. Also some sweet berry juice tones and vinegar. Hides the ABV very well. Like a real ale version of oud bruin. Balanced but not my thing.

Great bretty porter. The roasted notes of the malt go very well with the bitter hops and the tardy brett. Tasty stuff.

Cask @ In de Wildeman, small sample. Dark brown color, short frothy head. Aroma of english breakfast, scrambled eggs, bacon, coffee, some mocha. Bit sweet in taste, slight bitter, quite alcoholic. Weird off-putting aroma actually.
