Tasting at Chez Bruce. Thanks to Sri Idol Smith. Almost opaque dark brown beer, tiny bubbly tan head. Smooth light palate, semi dry. Lightly tangy dark malts. Whisper of smoke. Tangy dark fruits. Little unsweet dark chocolate. Light semi dry finish. Mild smoky linger. Not bad.

Tasting at Chez Bruce. Thanks to our New England Chugmeister. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Palate is smooth and a little dry. Fine carbonation. Sweetish and tangy dark fruits. Very mild whiskey, trace of alcohol spice. Semi dry finish brings light berry fruits. Pleasant and engaging.

Bottle split at Bruce’s pad, thanks to Leighton, 28/05/14. Light black with a well appointed tan covering. Nose carries big roasty tones, ligh charr, vanilla, dark malt, earthy. Taste comprises earthy cocoa, dark fruits, toffee, lighter level of roast maltings than the aroma suggested, liqourice trace. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough stout.

Cask at the Watford Beer Festival 2013. Poured a hazy copper colour with no head. Aroma of apples, toffee and mild vinegar. Malty flavours with some spice and a rather palate confusing hint of almost Oxo-like saltiness. Finish was caramel, light resin and boiled sweets.
