440ml can at home labeled as “Black Ball Metric Stout” aged in Jameson Whiskey Barrels. Pours inky black with a minimal brown head. Nose is caramel, dark chocolate, some roasted coffee beans, oak. Flavour is smooth buttery caramel and chocolate.

Bottle from Beer52. Near-black with just a hint of brown. No head despite the moderate fizz (maybe just a tad too fizzy for my liking). Smooth and rich with chocolate, lightly roasted malt and a touch of espresso. Sweetish. Simple but effective & very well brewed. Yum.

Can from Beer52. Deep gold with a white head, gentle fizz and soft mouthfeel. Lagery leafy, floral hop aroma. Taste of floral, leafy hops and a touch of soapy citrus set against buttery, biscuitty malts. I don't like the hops. I just don't like pale lagers
