330mL bottle, pours a thin dark brown with a small beige head. Nose is oxidized as hell, with lots of rice wine, alcohol, and paint thinner. Flavour is boozy and hot, with lots of rice wine, alcohol, and oxidation. How this is a stout, I don't know. A boozy, cheap rice beer of some sort. Not great.

Medium brown. No head. Interesting sochu nose with a lot of sweet sherry, maybe some nuts. Sweet, the sherry is happening a lot here, light barrel. Light body, quite drinkable, but the barrel is really dominant, kind of takes over the whole thing.

I got this bottle from Aeon supermarket in Okayama. An anniversary brew that is a lager and a clear gold with a thick head of foam. It has a grainy grassy aroma and a dry light body. The taste is malty, sweet molasses biscuits and green herbal hops. Not bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This stubby 250ml (about 300¥) can dates from those early days where I guess to not seem overly pricey compared to macro-beers they had to reduce the size of their cans. The beer itself is a yellow gold beer with a decent though not so long-lasting head. The aroma is a bit too greasy sweet and may even have some butterscotch diacetyl. Medium bodied and fairly dry with a fairly crisp sweet honey bun with herbal hops. The taste is alright but I am not a fan of the aroma. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Okayama Aeon Mall as part of my 1000 yen tasting set. Clear gold with a thick beige head. A floral Pilsner malt aroma. Crisp and light with a wildflower honey type sweetness. Solid and easy drinking - I downed this fast. 3.6

Tap at Okayama Aeon Mall as part of my 1000 yen tasting set. Opaque copper with a dense light beige head. Medium to light bodied, dry and tangy Yuzu earthy flavor. Not bad as it has good yuzu flavor but needs to look a touch better. 3.5
