Fresh can from my local Natural Lawson. Slightly cloudy golden, white foam. Aroma has a hint of coriander, some yeast spices and sweet banana. Taste brings out more of that coriander, some light lemon peel citrus and a touch of herbal bitterness. Feels quite smooth and actually even nicely balanced. Dry herbal finish. Not exciting in any way but actually nice light drinkable summer brew.

Crisp golden coloured body with a small white head, just two centimetres tall. Aroma of crisp wheat, some light grasses, a hint of yeast and some very light coriander seed freshness. Light-bodied; Stronger coriander seed flavours at first with more of a hay and curacao sweetness and only a touch of the wheat and grasses behind, with more cardboard and funky flavours than anything else. Aftertaste shows some subdued grasses, a touch of coriander seed freshness and some more robust yeastie flavours than noticeable before. Overall, a relatively good, light-drinking beer that shows some decent witbier qualities without showing too much off-flavours or pungency. I sampled this 35 cL can purchased from City’Super in One IFC, Central, Hong Kong on 29-July-2017 for HK$22,00 sampled on the streets of a very hot Hong Kong on 30-July-2017.

Dark brown coloured body with a small tan head, only a centimetre tall. Aroma of roasted malt, light nuts, vanilla, toffee and a bit of oak and peat. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong rich malty flavour at first with a good dose of lactose and cream. Some nuts and dry earth near the end with vanilla, must and dirt along with a minor hit of oak and smoked peat. Aftertaste shows some mild nuts and earth along with a touch of milk, lactose and caramel, but this is overall very mild, dry and musty without too many good flavours or much of a stout-ness at all. This shows more of a porter, and that it still shows more of a mild ale than anything else. Overall, don’t expect too much here, but it sounds interesting and was decent at least, but not really worthwhile or a beer to go out of the way for. I sampled this 33 cL slightly stubby bottle purchased from Jason’s Market Place in Taipei 101 in Taipei, Taiwan yesterday on 24-July-2017 for NT$122 sampled in my hotel room here in centrail Taipei, Taiwan a day later on 25-July-2017.

Bottle, as irresistibly labelled Abashiri Prison Stout. Dark brown with a light tan head that’s soon a coat. Roasty aroma is soon overcome by caramel syrup. Some mocha. Light to medium bodied, presumably some of the sugar is lactose. Quite sweet and caramelly, but the roast is enough to balance it pleasantly. Low key but pleasant.

Can. Pours a slightly hazy blue color with a small blueish white head. Has a fruity spicy herbal aroma. Sweetish fruity weak floral herbal flavor. Has a sweetish fruity finish.

Negra, espuma ocre poco duradera. Aroma tostado, notas de caramelo, dulce. En boca cuerpo ligero, aguada, y sabor de caramelo y café con alguna nota ahumada. Cansina.

Ok so this is my first blue beer. Quite surprising. Funny thing :) Aroma is some herbs and some ginger ale. Taste is artificially sweet and again like ginger ale. Finish has bad graininess and the beer has no real character. Also the carbonation seems to be off. I am not sure whether too high or too low though. I would have normally given maybe 7 overall but I am really amazed by the blue color, so I adjusted it towards the higher points. This beer was overall a really nice gag!

Can. Creamy wheat nose, orange, coriander. Muddy orange-brown color with a high, fluffy head. Sweet, creamy flavor, lots of coriander and some orange. Sweet and silky. Not horrible.

Pale blue colour with a white head. On the nose, it’s, what is that? Blueberry mouthwash? Herbal, I guess. Very watery palate, again with a muted version of that aroma. Will be curious to find out what the hell that is.

Bottle at PIB 2016, pours a hazy turquoise-y blue with a small white head. Aroma is quite soapy, with purple yam-like sweetness and soapy cleaner notes. Flavour is disgusting, with soapy, cleaner-like notes and a touch of sweetness on the finish. Looks cool, but tastes terrible. Drain pour.
