Pale blue colour with a white head. On the nose, it’s, what is that? Blueberry mouthwash? Herbal, I guess. Very watery palate, again with a muted version of that aroma. Will be curious to find out what the hell that is.

Bottle at PIB 2016, pours a hazy turquoise-y blue with a small white head. Aroma is quite soapy, with purple yam-like sweetness and soapy cleaner notes. Flavour is disgusting, with soapy, cleaner-like notes and a touch of sweetness on the finish. Looks cool, but tastes terrible. Drain pour.

12oz can from Jeremy. Novelty beer? Pours out clear sky blue with a small airy head. Sweet, very sweet, candy notes in both aroma and taste. Not good, still trying to get past the color.

Can at the bottle share. So is it the gardenia coloring that makes it a spice/herb/vegetable? Yeah, it pours a light blue like Aqua Velva, but from there its just another pale lager. Light malty sweet nose and mildly sweet taste. Not much to it. A bit on the watered down side. Neat little novelty though.

12oz can pours out a crisp blue ya that’s right blue. Nose is light blue cotton candy sweetness. Taste is more of the light cotton candy sweetness and some grain.

350ml can from Firebox. Pours a clear and bright blue colour (same dye used in Blue Curaçao), thin sliver of a pale blue head, it looks more like a cocktail than a beer. Aroma is artificially sweet, though inoffensive, again more like a cocktail I can’t really detect any hop or malt notes. The taste is not very beer-like, typical lager malt with a lot of sweetness to it, possibly from the yams or maybe just artificial additives. No bitterness at all. Moderate carbonation, mouthfeel is maybe a bit too fizzy. Overall it’s just meh... a sweet, strange looking lager.
Wasn’t keen to try this after seeing all the bad reviews but honestly wasn’t as bad as I expected. Sure it’s not something I’d want to drink regularly especially considering the price. In my opinion it’s more of a fun gimmick for Halloween parties and the like.

Abashiri Okhotsk Blue 5% This is one of those weird Japanese colored beers that approximate a cocktail. Apparently, the blue is due to an algae or something. This pours an incredibly clear fluorescent blue with a fizzy light blue head of foam. The aroma is kind of like blueberry mouthwash. The mouthfeel is light bodied and very dry. The taste is that odd artificial sweetness, blueberry and cream soda with a macro-lager grainy cracker pale malt sweetness. Too sweet, gassy and just barely beer like. This isn’t for me.

Can courtesy of Geraint and Helen, purchased from Firebox.com. Consumed at home, Sunday 20th September 2015. Yes it is blue alright even sporting a white head with a distinct bluey hue. The taste is almost non-existent, in fact I really think that I am drinking soda water with a hint of something, but not sure what the hint of something is because these is no beery taste (a touch of sweetness maybe). It’s not dreadful because there is little to get worked up about, it’s quite burpy (so gassy) a gimmick that’s not great. A6 A4 T5 P2 Ov9 2.6

Can from Natural Lawson. Deep blue with a light sky blue foamy head that dissipates fairly quickly. Slight hint of grass, but basically no nose. Taste of light paper and light grass. Essentially not taste. Very minimal amount of barley I’m sure. Gross.
