Keg at Gubi Gabu - Kinosakionsen. Pours deep brown with a frothy, tan head. The nose holds burnt malts, toasted brown bread, ashy cocoa. Light-medium sweet flavour with some lactose motets, burnt toast, woody dryness, more ash, bitter chocolate, earth. Light bodied with average carbonation. Alright balance in the finish, somewhat restrained, more drying ash, burnt wood, cocoa. Not bad, though somewhat basic.

Light sweet flavour with dry pale bread, old biscuits, bread crust, some grassy and husky bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. OK balance in the finish, more husky grains, dry pale bread, straw. So so overall.

Tasting at Matt’s
Dark brown color, almost black. Bread and sea water aroma. Dry, a bit bready, a bit stale, very light saline.
Ok Stout.
