My local craft beer shop and also the nearest HEB tend to obtain a lot of Tupps offerings, availability I assume. They work extensively off their base imperial stout and that is fine by me. Most variations work, some significantly less so. All good, I’m here for the ride. I have one 12 oz can from the four pack of Full Grown Jack (put up 9/17/20) cooled off, opened and now pouring into my DFW area Cowtown Brewing snifter. It has the motor oil thing going with an interesting yellow-tan head that recedes to a solid skim. The nose is heavy with pumpkin. The taste is likewise with the pumpkin along with cloves, coriander, malt and a touch of dark chocolate. A decent bitter finish with the 12.1% abv lurking in the background. You get what you pay for. Nice.

The HEB with best selection of craft beers had a four pack of Full Grown Hombre last week. I bought it and am trying with my wife and son for the first time for any of us. The pour is like motor oil, thick and black. Chilis overwhelm any other scent. The taste is chocolate with no sweetness, malt, dark bread, all with a very noticeable heat. Scores points for being unusual but far from being great.
