Nearly black. No head. Fudgey nose with a touch of chocolate and caramel. Dryish finish, with a splash of alcohol, and this overrides some relatively complex dark chocolate and toasty notes. This is impy completely devoid of fruity characteristics, but packed with hops to dry out that finish a bit. Almost a bit of vanilla late...like a prelude to a sequel.

22 oz. bottle, pours jet black with a medium brown head. Aroma brings out robust roasted malt, dry cocoa and some piney hops further back. Flavour is fairly robust, with bold roasted malt, with dry dark cocoa, and potent hops. Nice balanced between the roasted malt and hops, without being too skewed towards the hops (despite warning us with the 100 IBU). Very good.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of wild yeast, brett funk, and a little oak. Flavour is complex, with lovely wild yeast character, followed by brett, and some rustic farmhouse yeast. Wonderful yeast character, with a dry, wild finish. Fantastic.

Hazy blonde. Not much head. The aroma is great - wild, barrelly, leathery, so gueuzey. Sweet, and a bit bretty, with leathery notes, touch of lemon, and has complex wild funk stuff. Touch of sweetness. Very drinkable, but with a lot of complexity.

Cloudy, a bit overripe on the nose but better on the palate. Sweetish, very bitter in the finish, light pale malts, but the overripe note comes in late.

22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy opaque golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out dank, citrus hops, with biscuity malt and a touch of tropical fruitiness. Flavour is a bit faded, with earthy, citrus hops, biscuity malt, and some light dankness. Dry and lightly bitter, with an earthy tinge to it. Pretty good, but nothing extraordinary.

Sort of a murky mid-brown. Thin head. The aroma is mostly toasty and fudgey, not actually a whole lot of smoke to this. On the palate, this is really just a regular porter, with the cocoa and the fudge. No real smoke at all. Sort of thin on the body...I don’t know. This isn’t that sweet, not that complex...and I’m missing the smoke.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out subdued smoke, toasted malt, and a little chalk. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of toasted malt upfront, subdued smoke, and a touch of dry cocoa. Medium-bodied, with a silky palate. Lovely stuff.

The 2016 version, "Euro Style Pilsner." Slightly cloudy golden with a white head. Clean with a slight malt profile. Finish has medium crisp bitterness. Slightly noble hop in the end. A basic but well-brewed Lager. Really nice Lager.

40 oz growler filled at Hop and Hound, with intention of drinking this whole thing to myself, because there is no way this IPA will be a bad beer. Watching baseball, and drinking beer like this, we are so close to the greatest time of year. I really hope this beer is around during the season by the way. These grassy hops just taste like baseball to me. Delicious, and inspiring. Thick, hazy orange pour with a rocky head. Juicy citrus dominated aroma. Thick cream body, with a sessionable feel for a beer that sits on the imperial fence. Cool. Refreshing. Very tasty. It’s starting to look like Three Magnets is in on the local solid IPA game. A solid entry for sure.
