Can bought at Bottle & Stoat, Southampton. Clear light gold. Foamy white head. Aroma is bitter. Herbal. Unusually, for the style, it's resinous. Flavourwise it's got a bitter woody and herbal core. Some light if tart citrus. Spice. Light. Thin. Soft-flat carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Much more punchy than your usual Wit.

2026 Clitheroe Beer Festival #19. Mildly hazed deeper golden coloured brew, with a bit of amber too. Has a crisp enough hoppy-fruitiness of the tropical variety. Dryish fruitiness.

Can. A mild haze on this gold beer, small bubbly pale cream head. Light palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Slightly thin malts, a whisper of natural grain and a mild sweetness which, suits this West Coast affair just fine. HBC522, the perennial bridesmaid, well she is screaming for vengeance here. Some Centennial like citrus punch along with Alora yuzu and Earl Grey. On the back end, mildly candy stone fruits and tropical fruits. A light and semi dry finish leaves a mild hop spicy and mild bitter linger. Well then. Been quaffing HBC522 for a decade at least, on the strength of this brew, it should be commercialised, at long last and, preferably without some naff name. Crisp, bags of hop punch and depth and, a soda water drinkability.
