$2 can. Pour is clear near orange pale. Nose is delightfully artificial berry. First taste tells me its not really a kettle soured beer as described. Yea, its fruit, but its dull artificial berry fruit beer with fortified alcohol added. Think berry flavored cleaning fluid. What tartness? What sour? Who knows? Very poor job and I'm pissed picking this up thinking I was getting an open vat sour wild brew. Yes, there is some very mild tartness but I bet this was added with chemicals too. What a mess; there, you have it. Not as bad as an IPA, but pretty bad none the less.

Another 16 oz can of imperial stout picked up from Half Time, a colorful label, no disputing that. Two good things I see in advance. Barrel aging and bourbon. I have a tulip glass ready to go for the pour so I proceed. I determine a brown-black liquid with a thin light tan skim. A sniff lets me know there is booze involved along with chocolate and toasted bread. The taste is all right but is not up to the level I anticipated. Wheat bread, chocolate certainly, a touch of bourbon, some unexpected coffee, berries, malt and earth. The sensation is thinner than I like in an imperial stout. Decently okay.

2$ can. Sweet malty nose. Light brown tint on orange yellow. Slight haze. Head fades to pond scum. First taste is sweet malty and boozy. Very slifght co2, somewhat mouthcoating. A stronger brew fer-sher. Just a hair of astringent, barely detectable, bite in the middle. Not sure if I'm liking this but, it does have an alky content that helps me forget about that passing thought. Gets a little oily near the end. Decent lacing in the glass. Not too bad for a stronger beer, more manners than many at this alky content.

Can (16 oz). Would I like to believe that Ellicottville has made a unique beer to celebrate the sports teams I love? Yes. Do I believe that Ellicottville has done so? Not in the least. Is it a good beer? Meh... not really but it's not bad either. I guess you had that coming (on multiple levels), EBC. Here goes:
Pour is a dingy gold with a foamy head that dies back fairly quickly. Aromas are malty... biscuit and maybe floral, with nothing of distinction. Flavor is some malt and some hops... not great on either account. It's a solid pale ale, but selling it as a) an IPA and b) a unique IPA that captures what it is to be a Lions/Tigers/Red Wings/Pistons fan is just not accurate. How about including ONE ingredient that would mark this as \"Detroit\"? How about including enough hops to make this \"India\"? I will give you that the can is cool as hell... so you get an extra point or two for that.
