2007-12-29, draught at the brewpub, 7-5-6-3-13=34
Muddy brown color; generous creamy head; it’s served in its original glass, short and very large, very beautiful. Sweet aroma of Weizen, with nice banana touch. The body is medium-thin; there is a quite good malty flavor (for a Weizen), with some banana and light spices, some fudge too; sweetish; unfortunately it gets thinner and weaker at the end. Refreshing, but not impressive.
2002-09-24, draught at the brewpub, 8-5-7-4-14=38, 6% ABV
Cloudy brown colour, persistent collar of foam. Intense aroma (I’m sorry, but I was so tired, I could not spot it exactely; my mate didn’t appreciate and said it smelt like a medicine). Smooth, some sweetness, some fruitness (cassis again?), malt, roasted malt. Enough bitter
There’s something unusual that I couldn’t determine. Anyway, it has a strong character, it’s pretty good, a strange (original) evolution of a Mild.

2008-10-31, tasting at Papsoe, 6-5-6-3-14=34Cloudy deep blond, huge head. Creamy aroma, milky, not fruity. Good mouthfeel, sweetish malt flavor, light sourness and fruitness, delicate, balanced, leading into a more balanced flavor; good but not surprising.
2002-07-24, bottle at the brewpub, 7-5-7-4-14=37
Served in a 75cl bottle, it comes with a tray of different sorts of cheese; poured by the waiter in 2 giant original glasses (look at the picture, each is about 1 litre).
Hazy amber colour, giant head (at least 15 cm), rocky, that sticks to the glass in a beautiful lace.
Nice aroma, not particularly strong: malt, fruits (cassis). Italian Doppio Malto as a base (that means Bock beer), corrected by the fruit and a hopping stronger than the average. The malt is quite good, leaving some sweetness, and participating in a good body structure; the fruit is discrete, the hop may be too strong and the bitterness hides the fruit.
As most of the beers from this brewery, it´s bottom fermented; the fruits come as a syrup, I heard that it´s produced by some farmer in Alto Adige region.

Cloudy blond colour, generous thick head (the picture is a true image of every served glass). Very nice classic aroma, spicy (coriander and cloves scent - no addictions of course - ) and malty. Pretty malty and sweet, traditional. Ordinary palate.
In my opinion the B.I is the best Italian brewery, but this one doesn't match their exceptional Tipopils; I will taste it again in better conditions.

Cloudy orange-light amber colour, beautiful head, creamy, lace. Original aroma, like a wine wort, scent of Fragola grape, prunes, light elderflowers. Light body (anyway necessary to exalt the floral notes), floral, delicate; dry, pretty bitter. Simple palate. Original but not outstanding.

2023-08-20, draught at the brewpub, with Ines; 7-4-7-3-16=37
Even the head is not compact like before. Not enough hop aromatic charge. Not like the Tipopils i remember. I regret not having a second chance during this trip to Italy to confirm, in case it was just me on a wrong day.
2013-04-12, 7-4-7-3-14=35
the color seems darker blond and cleaner than it used to be. Malt and hop aroma, rich but less impressive, and also metallic. More malty and less carbonated; correctly bitter, but the aromatics of the hop are a bit missing. Correctly brewed but not even close to the real one.
2012-04-12, 8-5-7-4-14=38
Hazy blond color, with the usual rocky head. The aroma is initially not very interesting, with cereals, paper; but later it develops some nice crispy malt.
Good clean malt flavor, with correct bitterness, having a grassy character, but not as aromatic as the best batches.
This was the last tank brewed in the original location.
2009-03-19, 8-5-7-4-15=39
Hazy deep blond color, clearer than usual, but with the same creamy head. The aroma is hoppy, medium intensity, grassy. Good malt and strong bitterness, but I miss the crispy touch and better hop aroma.
2007-12-29, 10-5-8-5-18=46
Wonderful herbal hop aroma, Saaz; it' even lightly smokey (chestnuts). The body is quite dry, with almost no sweetness, but with a good crispy malt flavor; luckily we are back to the old bitterness levels: very high. The bitterness is extreme for a Pilsner, and of course the hop is of excellent quality. Needless to say, the final is very long. It's almost unfair to say that it could be perfect if just it had some more sweetness. My best Pils!

I kept drinking this wonderful brew every time I go back to my hometown, but I didn't update the notes for more than three years…
The appearance is the top of the art, a hazy blond brew with a thick big head, just a masterpiece.
Initially the nose is hit by a fresh green hop aroma.
Dry mouthfeel, partially malty, with a honey touch, crispy; well bitter; very long final, aromatic hops.
I remember it as more aromatic and fruity, but it's still my favorite Pilsner around!
2002-05-20, 10-5-7-5-18=45
Blond pilsner, misty, big head. Wonderful hoppy aroma, lightly floral. Average body, some malt, a strong hop character; fresh hop, wonderful. Long final, dominated by the hop, strongly aromatic.
The brewery masterpiece, and undoubtedly one of the best pilsners you may find.

Dark red-amber color with creamy head. Nice aroma, perfumy, a bit fruity. Good body structure, round, with good caramel flavor, although some darker caramel slash roasted malt is out of place. Strong bitterness.
Very good, smooth, solid brew.
2008-03-26, bottle at the brewpub, 6-5-7-3-13=34
Hazy red-amber color; creamy head. There is some caramel aroma, lightly perfumy and with a light buttery note. Good body; it has a basic caramel flavor and balanced bitterness. Missing some emotions.
2003-01-14, bottle at the brewpub, 7-5-8-5-17=42
Red-amber color, generous thick head.
Very nice hop aroma, perfect marriage of malt and hop, almost fruity (banana, …)
Incredibly complex flavor, perfectly mixing the malt (very strong), the hop, the caramel…
Sweeter in the font, drier in the strong final, a lot aromatic (2nd in Italy only to the Tipopils).
A giant brew, that can be compared to the best Belgian ones!
2002-05-20, bottle at the brewpub, 7-4-7-4-15=37
Red amber bock. Good malt aroma. Good body, well balanced, good malt, light caramel, light yeast taste. Palate is balanced, alcoholic; malty palate, stronger than the hop.

Red-mahogany color; creamy head. Strong aroma, peculiar, with sweet roasted nuts. Good body structure, with strong caramel and roasted nuts flavors, cocoa beans. Maybe the final, with caramel too, has a bit too much roasted malt for me. Smooth mouthfeel, seducing toffee. Good.
2002-05-20, draught at the brewpub, 6-5-8-4-14=37
Dark amber beer, thick head. Malt aroma, light caramel. Good body, malt, rather sweet, strong caramel in the mouth, caramel bitterness. Balanced palate, pretty long, sweet at first, then bitter.

Beautiful as always. But, like Tipopils, this is the ghost of what used to be. I regret not having a second chance during this trip to Italy to confirm, in case it was just me on a wrong day.
2007-12-29, 9-5-9-5-18=46
Beautiful color, red - amber, hazy, with a thick and generous creamy head. Nice aroma, of malt and some hop; perfumy; some alcohol too. Good mouthfeel, solid; sweet malt stickyness; it has a very good mix of malt, caramel, hop, with a touch of vanilla, honey and wood, dynamic; getting warmer, a powerful malt releases all its flavor, smashing the tastebuds. High bitterness level. It seems to be more powerful than the 6.2% would suggest; overall it's softer, more round and more malty than a classic Bock; take your time to warm this incredible brew (at least 30 minutes), and you will be rewarded with a world class beer. Amazing.
2005-12-28, 9-5-7-4-16=41
Hazy amber color; creamy head. Aroma of malt, very good hopping, a bit fruity; persistent. Full body, well malty, some sweetness, caramel, warming, correctly bitter.
Excellent!
2002-05-20, 5-5-8-4-16=38
Amber colour, beautiful head. Light aroma, malt, yeast. Alcohol. Good body, smooth, lightly sweet, malty, then more equilibrated; candy sugar, light caramel; final more hoppy and dry. Nice palate, hoppy and aromatic.

First batch of the season
The perfect aroma of noble hops, with a light mouthfeel, some crispy malt, and more hop, with a nice grassy presence. Clean.
Tonight, the best beer in the pub.
Thumbs up from my sister too!
2012-04-10, draught at Birratrovo, Como, 7-4-6-3-13=33
Hazy blond color. Grassy hop aroma, with light cereals. Clean malt flavor, a bit too much yeast and bitterness. Pleasant Helles. A bit harsh.
2002-05-20, draught at the brewpub, 8-5-7-4-13=37
Gold pilsner, beautiful head. Nice hop aroma. Dry, heavily hopped, bitter; fruity hop. Palate long, bitter, not so aromatic.
