Old rating from 05-01-17 - A 330ml bottle from La Cervesia, in Lucca. It's a very stylish looking bottle. Batch 597, bottled- 10-02-15, expiry 15-02-17, ABV 9.5 It pours light brown colour with a beige head. Aromas of earth & malt liquor. Tastes of earth, malt liquor, caramel, dried fruits and mildly of pine with a aftertaste that has a good level of malty bitterness.

Bottle, expired 2 months. Hazy dark yellow color, lot of sediment, creamy super-fine white head. Flavor of weizen malt a bit of spices and a citrusy edge, wheat, yeast, dough. Body fairly solid, silky texture, carbonation is surprisingly low. Taste sweetish vaguely tart, alcaline, minimal bitterness. Finish smooth with some dryiness, refreshing, clean.

On tap at Birrificio Italiano , pours a cloudy dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma has lots of wild bugs, tart cherries, cherry pith, and a touch of acetonic character. Flavour has a nice wild yeast expression, with tart cherries, wild yeast, gentle acetonic notes, and a dry buggy finish. Well-constructed. Good.

On tap at Birrificio Italiano, pours a deep dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma has toasted malt, a touch of roast, and a hint of fruitiness. Flavour is roastier than your average dark lager, with light honey, moderate hops, and earthiness. Roasty, hoppy finish in good balance. Very good.
