On tap at the brewery. Hazy, weak haze for this style. Medium head. Pear, banana, sweetness, some wheaty tartness for balance, enough bitterness that it’s not out of whack. Okay, this is a solid hefeweizen. Like, unexpectedly so. A complex and balanced expression of the style. And not a fucked up phenol in sight.

Bright, gold, thin head. Clean, balanced, sweet pale malt, some grapefruit and pine. Hey, that’s clean and bright.

Yeasty. Decent bitterness, actually doesn’t have the right malt character, and it’s kind of yeasty. Not a terrible beer but a weird take on this style.

Gold, pale, medium head. Doesn’t have a bright nose, some crackers, toasty malt, and earthy hop character. Ends up balanced, nice bitterness, and a decent if subdued hop expression.

Bright, amber, medium head. Medium hop, lots of pale malt. A bit husky, with some alcohol flavour in the finish. Not bad.

Bright gold, medium head, bright passionfruit, stone fruit and light pine. Clean pale malt. On the palate it’s odd…mostly hop but the expression is more pear, some of toastiness. Such a nice aroma and just did not follow through on the palate. Bubblegum…i bet there’s krush in here and that’s fucking it up.

Brown, small tan head. Light malt nose. Vague toasty palate, light sweet malt with fait bitterness in finish

On tap at The Magnet. Pours nearly opaque dull gold with a white head. Not much on the nose. Flavour has some dull pine, light notes of tropical fruit, and the typical hazy murkiness. Very little hop expression to be found, let alone fres hop.

586 ml can. Pours a copper color with moderate head. Aromas of doughy malts, pine, and a bit of toffee. Flavors of same with emphasis on pine. Yep, a very old school malty IPA. Overall good, but what’s with the stupid huge can? I rather buy two small cans rather than have to consume what’s in the huge can in one sitting.

20oz (😑) shared @ Ryan's with Farees and Alex.
Aroma: a bir fruity with some flowery notes, good malt backbone.
Taste: along the same lines, noticeably bitter, piney.
Overall: quality old school West Coast IPA.
