Cloudy amber. Fruity hop aroma (blackberry, cloudberry) with a hint of toasted malts. Toasty palate with a slightly earthy hop bitterness underneath. Rather yeasty.

Copper colour. Clear. Slightly caramelly, marmaladey aroma. Moderate woody bitterness with some very sweet honeyish malts. Almost candyish at times. Bitter, earthy finish. Strange beer.

Hazy light yellow. Slightly phenolic aroma with mild spiciness and, of all things, mushrooms. Light body, rather perfumey character. Off-dry finish.

Bottled, surplus from RBSG, thanks oakes, alc. 6.0% (BB 04/2006)
Hazy dark orange, floating black particles. Brownish head. Earthy, crisp aroma. Bitter and yeasty. Mild long bitter finish. I would like to love this beer more but it was just not right there.

Bottled. Cloudy pale yellow. Orangey aroma. Medium sweet with some rounded papery malt, but still fairly thin. There’s som oraneg jam, but the flavour is quite short, and IMO this beer does not live up to the very high expectations I have on Nøgne Ø.

Bottled. Hazy amber, rich head. Flowery and aromatic - the East Kent Goldings dominate up front. Laid back, clean and firm. The finish is orangey and bitter. Technically perfect, but still there is something separating this beer from true greatness. Malt depth? I would love to sample this beer from cask.

Bottled. Mahogany colour, rich head. Roasty, fruity nose. Soft and rounded with lots of caramel. Salty, nutty and woody, well balanced. Medium bitterness. Restrained but still very flavourful. Imagine a Newcastle Brown, but fresher, maltier, richer and hoppier, and this is your beer...
