Barley Days Brewery opened its doors in 2007 as the first Craft Brewery in Prince Edward County. Over the years we have produced many different styles and flavoured craft beers. We are continuing to grow our portfolio and bring the consumers what they want. Every season we are delivering a new flavourful beer, as well as continuing to carry our standard lineup.

Named Roger’s Red Coat Pale Ale. Light hazed blonde with a thin white head. Fruity ester aroma with light yeasty notes. In mouth, a clean malt with little hops, veering into lager. Boring and thin. Nail remover develops as beer warms up. 660 mL bought at Kingston LCBO, Sept. 30 2006.

Dark reddish brown ale with a thin lacing off white head. To style in aroma, with nice butterscotch and caramel malt. In mouth, a decent caramel malt, with nutty notes, decent English hops, and buttery mouthfeel. A good renewal for this brewery. On tap at KBC, Sep. 30, 2006.

Chesnut colour; oily body; sweet, honeyish notes dominate - a fairly mild ale, but with a bit of alcholic zip (which at 4.5% points to the mildness of the other components). A bit of coffee at the end.

Inappropriately turbid appearance, light muddy colour; faint aroma with biscuity malt, lemon and hints of earthy hop; the palate is light and far too acidic.

I'll be blunt - this brewery has some serious infection issues. This beer isn't that heroic to start with, but it really doesn't matter if it goes sour on you in a week, now does it?
