From a 375ml can on 14/7/2019 (ABV listed as 7% not 7.5%). Pours a deep brown witgh a medium tan head. The nose features roasted malt , a bit of coffee and some fridge like notes. Taste wise, you get lots of roasted and burnt malt up fronty, a bit of coffee, and nuts and smokiness, followed by some pretty firm hops, with a slight saltiness at the back. Medium bodied with average carbonation. As others have observed, this is more a black IPA than a porter. Has a fair bit of character but could use some more sweetness to balance things out. Just okay.

Pint on tap at Basement Brewhouse, Bankstown. Brown beer with a foamy white head. Nose is very sweet caramel. Medium body with a bit of sparkle in the mouthfeel. Taste is mildly bitter and fruity. A real quaffer, well balanced.

From a 375ml can on 26/6/2019. Pours near black with a small to medium tan head. The smell is roasty, with some chocolate and light coffee. Tastes of dark and milk chocolate, caramel and burnt toffee, a touch of coffee and spice, with some berries, dried fruit and roasted/burnt malt, finishing with a moderate bitterness. Has just a hint of booze. Fullish body with a slightly syrupy texture, and moderate carbonation. Tasty enough and reasonably well done, but not really my kind of impy.

375mL can, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out plenty of roasted malt, with gentle cocoa, maybe a touch of espresso. Flavour is along the same lines, with a hearty, robust roasted malt character, with some dark cocoa, and some gentle espresso in back. Nice and roasty, without being too brutal. By the books, but very competently done. Great stuff.

Can. Black with 2cms of brown head that slowly fades to a fat coat. Roasty aroma with mocha, hints of pine and spice. Full bodied, short of oily Smooth with lowish carbonation. Holds the alcohol well. Rich malt with more chocolate than coffee, some pear. Spice from yeast rather than hops I'd guess. Some solventy piney notes that don't really fit for mine join towards the firmly bitter finish. Pretty good.

From a 375ml can on 4/3/2019 (ABV listed as 7.0%, not 6.7%). Pours a slightly hazy golden with a small head. Has a pleasant tropical fruit, honeyed nose. Flavour wise, there's lots of biscuit malt, citrus, stone and tropical fruit, and a quite firm hoppy finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Curiously described as Crankshaft's little sister on here. But this is, imho, markedly better and bolder than Crankshaft. Extremely tasty and really well balanced. A very pleasant surprise.

Sampled from the tap at The Local Taphouse. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has a combination of onion and pine with a bit of bread backing. Flavor has a combination of grass, pine and onion with a grain note underlying.
