Clear 750ml bottle. Almost black with a beige head that's soon a rim and island. Gentle but brooding aroma of chocolate, mild roast and berries. A little sharpness that could be from the berries or could be a little underlying tartness. Accompanied by bracken, oak and somewhat zingy spices. Smooth texture. Foil wrapped milky sweets, chocolate, berries pop in and out of prominence. Bitterness creeps up. Interesting, good.

Can. Rose gold with a rocky white head. Aroma of mildly funky crackers, dry red w blackberry & tobacco, oak. It smells like I always hope rosé will but it never does. Only a little sour and indeed only a little flavoured but dry with crackers and a light vinous touch that's more oak than fruit. Dry, modestly bitter finish. Very refreshing. Would make a fine aperitif - a good replacement for (say) a Campari and soda.

2020 version is 8% ABV and hopped with US and Australian. Clear yellow. A few bubbles cling to the rim. Aroma is Bretty with twigs and tired autumnal fruit mixing with fresher apple aromas. And so it tastes - a nice mix of tired and fresh apple flavours with sweetness and bite. Then a lurch towards dry with twigs and some not entirely expected bitterness (I hadn't read the label) nip through. Good stuff. Surprising they didn't try cider apples.

12/1/2020. Sample, from bottle, courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear deep golden with a short lasting white head. Aroma of lemon, citrus, touch of herb, grass, wood and gooseberry. Light sweetness, medium bitters and moderate tartness. Medium body, oily texture, average to soft carbonation. A little more sweetness comes through to finish, as does the woodiness. Tangy, citrus sour finish. Enjoyable.
