Description
Hops and Dots Brew Co. founded in 2019 – originally based in Linthorpe, Middlesbrough. In 2021 the brewery relocated to County Durham with opportunity to open a taproom on the horizon and a brand new brewhouse! We wanted to make beer that we would drink – so, that’s what we did. We promote braille through our beers – we love dots. Craft beer should be acessible and hoppy – we love hops!

440ml can delivered from the Salmon, Leicester and drunk at home. Dark brown, opaque, tiny bit of beige head. The scent of chocolate fudge is accompanied by notes of liquorice, booze, metal. Aweet taste with a bit of bitter chxolate and earthy hop. Oily body with light carbonation. More chocolate and liquorice in the aftertaste. It's pleasant but slightly artificial and not as clean as many strong stouts.

440ml can delivered from the Salmon and drunk at home. Light gold, hazy with a loose white head. Grapefruit and melon aroma with underlying grassy and biscuit notes. It's lightly sweet but the grapefruit pith bitterness declares its presence quite quickly. Astringent nites in the finish with white grapefruit and pineapple juice in the aftertaste. Medium carbonation. A good beer from a new brewery for me.

Third, gravicask, at the 22nd Oxford Beer & Cider Festival. Shared with Finn. Pitch black body, naked at the surface, fragile lacing. Roasted malty smell, hint of liquorice. Dark malty flavours partially overrun by sulfur. Roasted ashy ending. Not quite there. (25.10.2019).
