Can. Clear light amber with a fading white head. Modest but pleasant aroma with some bread crust, hints of orange and passionfruit. Thinnish but not quite watery. Highish carbonation. Not as sweet as expected but there are hints of toffee as well as light bread. The fruit is subtle but it's clean enough still to register. Dry enough at the end so the moderate bitterness is also enough to register. More grassy/ weedy there than tropical. Steamrail is a Coles supermarket front brand but this is _way_ better than most of this type and a perfectly respectable quaffer.

330ml bottle from Liquorland, Hurstville. Watery very pale yellow colour, white foam head and fruity apple aroma, abit artificial. Taste is fruity, apple, juicy, tangy, with a mineral note. Light bodied, fine foamy carbonation, short dryish finish. Abit too artificial.

330ml bottle into pint glass. Made from ’New Zealand Cider concentrate’! Pours a pale pale yellow with a bubbly white head which lingers a little. Faint tangy apple nose. High carbonation. Spritzy mouthfeel, quite dry taste. Finish has umami notes which linger too long. Ok to drink if you’re hot and thirsty otherwise no.

330ml bottle into schooner glass. Summer ale in the middle of winter! Fresh hop nose with a touch of malt sweetness. Clear golden amber beer, diminishing white head. Medium carbonation. Light body with crisp hop bitterness. Finish is slightly sour and citric. Designed to be drank quickly. Not bad.

330ml bottle into schooner glass. Golden copper colour with two finger white head. Distant malt nose. Medium carbonation. Slightly bitter watery taste with a bit of malt sweetness and a tiny touch of floral hops in the finish. No world beater but not bad. If this was brewed by 3 guys in a shed out the back of Bungendore people would rate it higher. But it’s made by the biggest company in Australia (Wesfarmers) so confirmation bias is a factor in most Steamrail ratings.
