Bottle - Sweet malt and acetone aroma. Dark brown and cloudy with light tan head. A very complex flavor - dark, dark chocolate/coffee malt - slightly sweet with a mild acetone/alcohol finish. This beer had a much more chalky/atringent flavor when I first bought it but after aging this beer for 6 months it mellowed out considerably.

A strong cherry-apple aroma - could not detect any other aroma. Dark brown color with ample brown head. Taste is spectacular - a perfect balance of fruity sweetness and malt. Nice full body.

Bottle. Brown color with a big white head. Fruity aroma with some malt and yeast. Light bosy, a little carobonated, but flavoir had some fruit, malt, and a touch of yeast. Easy to drink.

Bottle: Poured a hazy golden beer with a huge head with just above standard retention. Aroma is comprised of quite strong malt with some spice mix. Taste is quite refreshing with again the malt hitting you at first and ending with some noticeable spice mix. The body is thinner then the other Chimay but the carbonation is great. Overall, this is a very refreshing beer but not up to the standard of the other Chimay.

Pours with a very strong head. the 12 oz bottle almost didnt fit in the pounder I had it in. The galss is half gone and there is still a layer of foam. Lacing is strong also Dk copper color. Aroma and flavor is quite unusual. Took me a few minutes to put my finger on it but I think it is a hint of cloves, or similar spice. Feel and drinkability is very good though. Smooth and silky. A highly rated brew that is not one of my favorites.

11.12 oz bottle purchased by the Kuhnhenn brothers and sampled with them at their brewery. Pours a caramel to orange color, fine bubbles, mildly hazy. Small white head. Aroma has a bit of sweet malt, hints of light yellow fruit esters (light apricot, light peach), bit of yeast in there as well. Flavor is very dry, papery and astringent, with a light hops flavor mixed in with a very mild malt and yeast character. Finishes lightly sweet. Light bodied.

Dark copper brown hazy color. Pours excellent long lasting off-white head. Aroma is excellent: malts, prunes + citron-like alcoholic touch. Easy to drink despite being quite full-bodied malty. Palate is not extremely complex. Gives alcoholic kick in the finish.

Pours a dark brown with a fizzy head. Aroma is floral with yeast. Very nice and tasty. Nice carbonation and the malt is just right. For starter or pro this is a good beer.

Hazy orange with long-lasting foamy head. Aroma is hops, citron and yeast. Typical Belgium malt texture. Smooth mouthfeel with nice hoppy finish. I prefer Chimay Blue. (6/3/6/3/13 3.1)
