Bottle from Geers. Hazy yellow colour, white foam. Nose of tropical fruit, citrus. Taste is fruity and bitter with notes of oats. Hoppy finish. Good beer.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 03/2018. Orange assez trouble - effet levure, col fin crémeux beige. Un bon morceau levure su la fin. Arôme rend de fines effluves d’agrumes et léger tropical.rappel de fruits secs et un effet lager marqué. Petit rétro poivré concassé. Palais offre un caractère mettant un accent distinct sur l’effet lager, le tout se note vraiment bien au niveau levure. Cela est ponctué par une petite rondeur de grains - avoine. Cependant, le côté grains et levure restent un peu plus présent,e t laissent moins de place au profil de C-Hops. Retrouve un léger côté agrumes de Cascade avec une once de fruité virant sur la mangue. Amertume percane, finement épicée relevée par la levure. Galena apporte une petite sécheresse et touche de pamplemousse. Fini avec un profil orange givrée.

Off white frothy head stayed well on a murky, oak coloured body. Peach & citrus aroma (got a blocked nose today!) Medium bodied, well carbonated, tingly on the back. Malty tastes with peach, grapefruit, yeast, banana & a bit sour on the aft.

Bouteille 33cl, mercike Tderoeck. BB 03/2018. Dorée/pâle, col blanc beige fin et crémeux. Arôme me laisse une impression de brett avec un rétro penchant sur l’effet céréales, grains. Le tout offre un rétro nasal un peu organique, fleuri, presque mielleux, typique du Huel Melon. Palais est assez unique alternant fumé et houblonné qui laisse le tout passer sur un effet presque brett fruité. Le tout est léger, touche de grains avec une note épaisse en bouche. Pils est là juste en fin de bouche avec un léger fini rappelant un rucher - miel plutôt fleuri mais puissant. Le côté fumé perce doucement en retrait et tranche bien avec le côté bcp plus houblonné.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 03/2018, mercike Tderoeck. Trouble dorée/orange, col épais et généreux crémeux beige. Arôme fruitée sur des effluves marquées de papaye. Rétro centré sur les agrumes.avec un petit effet de pin, sous-bois. Pointe de fleuri perce en rétro-nasal avec un malté et grains qui restent cependant assez discrets. Il me semble que les C-hops percent plus. Palais met d’office un effet agrumes avec petit côté de pamplemousse et pomello. Le tout est accompagné d’une petite rondeur de l’avoine qui donne une légère impression de sécheresse - céréales. Ample C-hops avec ce côté classique américain rappelant des notes de pin subtiles.Petit rétro virant sur la mandarine et un petit côté papaye - en ayant mangé ce jour, le gout ressort de suite, surement l’effet de Mosaic. Le côté agrumes est plus en retrait. Sur la fin, une pointe d’épicé.

New ISA from Totem, missed it at Wieze Bierfestival but fortunately got a second chance at Zythos Bierfestival. Moussy, snow white, stable head on a hazy straw blonde beer with olive greenish hue. Aroma of yellow grapefruit, green kiwi, pine resin, bread crust, raw pineapple, wormwood leaves, lime peel. Fruity, vivid onset, pineapple and passion fruit notes, softish carbo, bit resiny mouthfeel, lightly bready basis, soapy with a starfruit-like hint, cereally way down, something slightly metallic but feeling natural (as in raw spinach leaves), long and very aromatic hoppy finish, a tad ’weedy’, grapefruity and piney with a soft, refined but adequate bitterness; some lingering soapiness. Feels full-bodied especially for a beer that does not even reach 3% ABV and teems with lovely ’new’ hop aromas - exactly how a top notch session IPA should be. Cheers to Klaas and Liesbeth!

IPA has become a world of beer in its own right in just a couple of decades and just when I thought nothing could be added to it anymore to further expand the concept - think fruit IPAs, barrel aged IPAs, coffee IPAs and whatever - Eastern Flanders’ most inventive brewer comes up with a lactose IPA, inspired by the milk stout idea... At ZBF. Very densely creamy and stable, egg-white head over a cloudy yellow blonde beer with deeper straw tinge. Aroma of passion fruit lemonade, milk powder, blood orange, cucumber, vanilla, melon, ripe mango, pear. Lively fruity onset, tropical with hints of granadilla, guava, pineapple and mango, banana too, sourish and soapy starfruit undertone, creamy ’lactose’ body on a soft, cereally, slick malt core, a tad bready here and there, leading to a creamy and highly aromatic finish with a lot of retronasal passion fruit, mango and mandarin, delicate and fragrant, gently bittering with ongoing lactose creaminess and sweetness gliding through. Dessert IPA, so to speak, one you’ll either love or hate but in any case highly original especially in Flemish context. Kudos to Klaas once again.

Sampled @ Zythos Bier Festival 2017. Trübes orange goldenes Bier mit einer geringen weißen Schaumkrone. Geruch nach Mandarine, trocken grasig hopfig. Geschmack mild hopfig, grasig bitter, Citrusfrüchte, trocken.

F: thin, white, quick gone. C: blonde to gold, hazy. A: fruity, tropical fruits, a bit of passion fruits, tangerine hoppy. T: fruity, malty, earthy, peach, grapefruits, tangerine, medium to full body very interesting for 2,9%, medium carbonation, good, enjoyed, thanks to tderoeck and kraddel for sharing beers today!
