Centuries of brewing tradition, the best ingredients and strict compliance with the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516 are quality that you can taste with every sip! The Rittmayer Brewery is one of the oldest breweries in Forchheimer Land. The family business dates back to 1422. The brewery even received its own coat of arms certificate from the Count of Kulmbach because of its good beer.

In spring 2012, our new brewery on the outskirts of Hallerndorf went into operation right next to our filling center. It is one of the most innovative medium-sized breweries in all of Germany.

Bottle picked up from Getränke Haußmann, Feldkirchen and consumed at home, Attenkirchen, Friday 27th December 2019 preparing Base Curry Mix for a Chicken Jalfrezi Curry. Pours clear gold with a large proud white head. Nice clean fruity beer, lovely softness, light bitterness. This is very nice, light hoppiness. Good.

Bottle picked up from Getränke Haußmann, Feldkirchen and consumed at home, Attenkirchen, Friday 27th December 2019 preparing Base Curry Mix for a Chicken Jalfrezi Curry, listening to Pumarosa - Devestation. Pours amber with a large proud white, creamy textured head. This looks to all ok intents and purposes like a British Bitter and if it was not quite so soft in the mouth it might not be far away. It's easy drinking, a biscuit maltiness, caramel but there is a little light touch of vanilla creaminess, little in the way of hops. It's pretty simple but very pleasant.

0.5 l bottle at Valhalla Craft Beer Bar, Zagreb. Shared with Marko and little Dina. Clear amber, small off-white head. Aroma is vegetable, grass, spice, malts. Grainy aroma, malts, caramel, bread, slightly messy. Sweet. Light body, moderate carbonation, moderate finish.

Almost clear amber, creamy beige head. Mild Beechwood smoke, a little meaty. Clean crisp light caramel body, mild smoky bitterness. Thinnish. Ok.

Bottle thanks to some German guy. It pours clear mahogany brown with a medium foamy beige head. The aroma is rich and earthy, peat reek, bonfire, brown bread, rivita, fruit cake and a dull sweetness akin to fruit cake. The taste is dry and robust, bitter - sweet, oily,} smoked action, savoury, meaty, plenty of peat reek, slightly medicinal, toothy, dull toffee, touch of malt loaf. Finish has lingering smoke. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Robust and unctuous. Works for me.

Tap at Wunder Bar in Zagreb. Thanks Ivica! Murky yellow-golden body with a tiny white head. Nice hoppy aroma, flowery and herbal. Smooth taste, lowely flowery hoppiness, even vaguely citric, clean, smooth maltiness, just slightly flat but a damn tasty Zwickel nonetheless! A very pleasant surprise!

Bottle. A- Peat, smoke. A- Dark copper color, clear liquid, beige head. T- Smoke, peat, woody. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, smoky finish. O- Wow. This is a smoke bomb. Chock full of peaty goodness and while not complex it's still going to come at you like a big puff of cigar smoke right to the face. If scotch were a beer, this would be it. An awesome smoked beer that I wish was available near me. I crave the smoke and this filled that desire.

Brown. Aroma is deep caramel some buckwheat some faint roast and licorice. Creamy malty. Taste is well balanced bitterlicorice with sweet malt juice. Very drinkable and full bodied. Also umami. Nice one.
