Draft. Amber body with a frothy, off-white head. Light aroma of toasted grain, herbs, spice, toffee. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Sweet, fruity taste with some floral notes. Muted Belgian characteristics. Neither assertive nor nuanced. In other words, not memorable.

Growler: Clear, very light gold with a white head. Grain, grass, aroma. Slightly oily-bitter barley malt, grass flavour. A little softness from the rice. Pretty decent grassy bittering. A very nice old-style lager.

Tap at Gambrinus 7 year anniversary. Pours a deep amber to light brown with a full finger of foam that dissipates. Malt driven nose with some caramel, chocolate and light pine resin. Full-bodied and rich malt flavor, chewy and almost like a strong ale or light barley wine. Hops come in on the finish but are muted. Kinda old school. --- Beer merged from original tick of DoubleCrush Imperial IPA on 23 Dec 2016 at 10:06 - Score: 6
