Description
1901 A promising start - On a good October Sunday in 1901, Jean-Baptiste Jodoin bought and orchard with it’s somewhat hundred apple trees.
1937 His son, Ernest Jodoin, inherited the family orchard in 1937 and during his lifetime acquired more land, which he later sold to his sons. Apples will be the providing income for the family for at least four generations!
1988 The cider house opens! - After a rough start (about 150 bottles in the first 6 months), the tenacity and drive of Mr Jodoin pays off: 5000 bottles in 1990 going onto 100 000 in 2004!
After a rough start, the cider house takes flight!
Striving to offer quality and original products, the cider house is proud to become the leader in traditional method ciders, the first microdistellery in Canada (1999) and the biggest producer in North America of the famous red fleshed apple, the Geneva.
Many times decorated, never equaled, Michel Jodoin cider house is a must stop of the Québec Cidrer circuit, not to mention a flagship of the Canadian food supply industry.

Bottle. Ruby color with no head. Aroma is concentrated apples, honey, gummibears. Taste is sweetest apples, berries, gummibears, tannic. Oily mouthfeel, very sweet, sweeter than other Ice Ciders, but still nicely balanced. Awesome, despite its sweetness.

Red with almost no head. Aroma is vanilla and rotten apple concentrate, some pears and cherries as well, vanilla. Taste is sweet pears and apples with more sour berries, some gummy bears, fresh sourness. Very smooth. Incredibly drinkable. Not too heavy. I love it.

Bottle. Ruby red. Fat sweet berrylike and fermented apple nose. Dry berry notes on a light mealy apple base, dry, light meaty, dry candyish finish.

Bottle, at SinH4-5K-MoritzF-10K tasting. Pours clear ruby. Aroma is gummy bear, candy, apple, cider. Body is heavy and super sweet, strong and intense, berry, chewing gum, red fruit, low acidity, also apples. A lot sweeter than all other ice ciders I had before. Almost chewy, sticky. Lingering berry palate. Good!

Pale yellow color. Mild aroma, candies, with some hops.Way too dry, weak, with some acidity and almost no flavor, maybe hints of hops, but you can really do much better.

Very pale, greenish. No head, but light effervescence. Quite floral with the houblon hops, with notes of citrus. Green apple tartness up front, a touch of bitterness but mostly the hops come through the palate as floral. Carbonated finish cuts through the acidity but sort of wipes away the hops, too, which is unfortunate because I think those hops are pretty good. Body is quite light and there isn’t a whole lot of apple character - the base cider is clean but lacking something.

330mL bottle, pours a clear pale yellow with a tiny white head. Aroma brings out loads of floral, perfumey hops, followed by crisp green apples. Flavour is very carbonated, with perfumey, floral hops upfront, and crisp green apples. The carbonation is very aggressive, which takes away from any of the other qualities. Crisp and easy to drink, but nothing special.
