Description
1901 A promising start - On a good October Sunday in 1901, Jean-Baptiste Jodoin bought and orchard with it’s somewhat hundred apple trees.
1937 His son, Ernest Jodoin, inherited the family orchard in 1937 and during his lifetime acquired more land, which he later sold to his sons. Apples will be the providing income for the family for at least four generations!
1988 The cider house opens! - After a rough start (about 150 bottles in the first 6 months), the tenacity and drive of Mr Jodoin pays off: 5000 bottles in 1990 going onto 100 000 in 2004!
After a rough start, the cider house takes flight!
Striving to offer quality and original products, the cider house is proud to become the leader in traditional method ciders, the first microdistellery in Canada (1999) and the biggest producer in North America of the famous red fleshed apple, the Geneva.
Many times decorated, never equaled, Michel Jodoin cider house is a must stop of the Québec Cidrer circuit, not to mention a flagship of the Canadian food supply industry.

A pale blonde bubbled cider with aroma of sweet apple pulp, light tropical fruits, light citrus, faint hops, nice. In mouth, sweet tart apples with light acidity, light citrus pulp, light tropical fruits and floral hops, refreshing. Bottle from Veux tu une bière?

Bouteille 750ml, bottle share. Couleur jaune pâle translucide, léger film parois. Arôme de pomme cuite, touche d’érable, pelure de pomme. Goût de pomme fraiche, bonne acidité, sucré, touche d’alcool, un peu de caramel. Carbonatation moyenne-faible, corps moyen-dense.

Corked bottle, vintage 2014
Skewed Refractometer Reading: 25°B
Reddish color. Fruit aroma, almost berries, a bit caramelized. Sweet but not syrupy, the acidity overwhelms that, still quite fruity, a touch of raspberries. Pleasant astringency in the final.
Nice drink, nothing impressive though.

375mL bottle, pours a clear bronze with no head. Nose is complex as hell, with treacle toffee, caramel apple and some residual brown sugar. Flavour is complex as hell, with treacle toffee and brown sugar upfront, followed by caramel apple and booze. Impeccably balanced, with no cloyingness from the sweentess at all. Fabulous stuff.

Bottle: Poured a light pink color cider with light carbonation. Aroma of fresh apple notes with light sweet notes also noticeable. Light fruity notes are also perceptible with a somewhat dry finish. I can’t say I really enjoy the rosé from Jodoin; seems like there is something missing.

Bottle: Poured light yellow color cider. Aroma of sweet apple notes with light rich Brandy notes. Taste is sweet but not overwhelmingly so. Nice concentrated apple notes with sweet finish. Easy to drink and hides quite well the 12% ABV.
