Desperate & quick short pour right as the cheese curds ran out. Stemless @GB's. Clear, very dark yet clear amber varnish. Hard maple sweetness, sticky & doughy nose. Varnish, sharp wood, cake-y bread, too much sugar. Doesn't help that the carb is weak. These guys make slushies all day & it shows. Hard pass.

A 16 oz can purchased at Total Wine close to downtown Dallas a month or so back. I'm matching up the beer with my Cowtown tulip glass tonight and the pour shows a dark mahogany brown with a wispy, disappearing ring of tan foam. I do like the steady carbonation. Curiously the wine crowds out any other smell. And the taste, well, it is as advertised. Again there is a significant vinous effect along with wood, a bit of chocolate, a honey sweetness and malt. All this makes for an interesting combination. I have to say I enjoy it, something off the charts a ways from the standard imperial stout.

12 oz. can from HEB, San Antonio, TX. Pours a crystal clear gold color with a white head and good retention. Good lacing. Pale malt aroma. Pale malt flavor too. Slightly sweet with a semi boozy finish. Tastes more like a malt liquor than a pilsner. Fairly smooth for 8.1% ABV. Medium body and medium carbonation. Slick mouthfeel. Low bitterness. Okay, but too strong.

Slightly obscured, pale copper pour @Grrrowlers. Tired of typing that. Strawberries & cream, with a touch of Frangelico, nutty nose. Bittersweet, pastry dough, strawberry filling, burnt bitter, toasty white toast, low sugar. Mimics cake. Kinda nice as an end cap on a short pour, not as my third beer.

12oz can from Tavour. Black pour, ring of beige head. Sweet aroma, chocolate, coffee. Taste is sweet up front, coffee beans following, then notes of Hershey's syrup. Super sweet, but leaves a light bitter finish.

Can. Pours black. Buttercream frosting, milk chocolate, cake batter, synthetic cherry, cheap vanilla, toffee. Kinda thin. Unpleasant.

Poured up on tap at Tipsy where it exhibits a deep dark chocolate colored body that supports a nice tan head of foam. The aroma offers up murmurs of berry fruitiness flowing into milk chocolate and then thin dark roasted malts. The taste delivers various berry fruitiness rolling into chocolate and increasingly darker roasted malts. The taste threatens to ground the experience on an atol of over sweet borderline fake tasting fruitiness. The mild chocolate and roasted malts somehow steer this ship away from a prolonged disaster. 7 4 8 4 14

Ever so slightly hazy golden and peach coloured body with a crisp, pretty light and thinnish tan head that fades quickly above the 15 per cent opaque body. Aroma of very syrupy and sticky sweet notes of caramel, caster sugar and honey with plentiful malt and alcohol in the nose with a little bit of hops, too, of course. Full-bodied; Very rich malty flavours dominate with a ton of pungency from the sugars and assertive sweetness with a lot of bitterness from metallic and medicinal astringency with a lot of bitterness, but the alcohol shows strongest here, especially at the end. Aftertaste is strong and robust with a lot of sugars, alcohol, malts and hops - pretty much everything is in here, in a big way, but it comes off as a bit cloying and quite rich and showing a bit too much alcohol at the end. Nice to sample, but this was perhaps a bit too strong, although the format was just right to sample a beer of this size/flavour! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Red Wagon in Troy, Michigan on 18-April-2023 for US$2,39 sampled two days later at my hotel room here in Utica, Michigan on 20-April-2023.
