Bottle no. 157/777. Fruity nose with lots of wood and sweetish marsala. The beer starts very nice round and fruity. Moderate bitter, nice smooth woody with sweetish marsala hints over a malty dark brew. Interesting. --- Beer merged from original tick of Marsala Bier on 06 May 2020 at 22:39 - Score: 7. Bottle. Clear dark brown with a small beige head that disappears completely in a flash. Aroma of malts with a little bit of caramel and honey. Taste follows aroma plus some metal and some earthy hops. Low sweetness with almost no bitterness. Strong carbonation. Ok actually. As always I expected worse from Liebhart.

330ml bottle [#384/658, Edition 2017/18]. Cloudy, dark amber colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Nice, though slightly weak, Sherry aroma, typical sweet-ish dessert wine flavours, a touch of mandarine, caramel. Taste is slightly dry and minimally sweet, malty, notes of medio seco Sherry, widely disguised basic beer that allows the Sherry flavours to unfold; citrusy overtones with a touch of lemon, madarine and orange, well hidden alcohol. A beer that really profits from BA. Not bad.

330ml bottle [#0789/1000]. Cloudy, dark brown colour with a thin layer of macropore off-white bubbles on top. Sweet-ish, caramel malty and slightly fruity aroma, notes of caramel, cherry, plum, hints of milk chocolate. Taste is slightly dry, minimally tart, woody, sweet-ish caramel malty, slightly fruity, hints of Whiskey, cherry, a touch of plum, milk chocolate, caramel, green wood, minimally metallic overtones; alcoholic finish with a touch of brandy. Relatively light body, watery texture, soft, minimally cloying palate. Despite the double-digit abv there's not enough substance to be adequately informed by the BA flavours.
