500ml bottle. Clear, chestnut colour with ruby shimmer and average to huge, thick, firm, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, sulphureous head. Weak, monotonous, toasty, nutty, malty aroma, a touch of malt lozenge. Taste is minimally sweet, toasty, nutty, dark malty, hints of malt lozenge, dark caramel, minimally dry, grassy hoppy overtones with a light metallic touch. Watery texture, indifferent palate, medium, minimally prickly carbonation. Very simple, monotonous, anaemic - so-so.

330ml bottle [#388/770]. Slightly cloudy, amber colour with small, frothy, minimally lasting and lacing, white head. Intense, sweet-ish, Marsala aroma. Taste is dry woody and sweet-ish vinous, notes of oak and Marsala, a touch of caramel. Minimally oily texture, smooth and soft palate, fine, soft carbonation. BA notes predominate, basic Doppelbock is widely disguised - but the Marsala is nice.

Huge thanks to Erzengel for sharing. Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass copper coloured, small head. Intense malty-alcoholic aroma. Starts intense malty-woody, peated, smokey hints as well. Warming-malty finish. Could maybe be more balanced, but still quite interesting.

Bottle 125/658. Fruity sherry dry nose. The beer starts mild ad fruity. Grainy back with hints of wood. The sherry is very dry, intense fruity but in total a bit neutral. Nice try but sessionable with nice aroma. --- Beer merged from original tick of Sherry Bier on 06 May 2020 at 22:50 - Score: 6. Original review text: Bottle 125/658. Fruity sherry dry nose. Bottle 0844/1142. Peated nose. The beer starts malty neutral, not highly carbonated. Peated wood in the back, neutral grainy dark beer. The nose is fantastic, the beer a bit too sweetish.
