Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small cream head. Malts and chocolate can be found in the aroma – provided you search for them ! A little watery in the mouth, but otherwise sweet and fruity with chocolate, dark fruits and plums, all on a malty base. There’s also some smokiness and a few hops hanging around. Finish is fairly dry. A decent enough stout without setting the world alight.
