Description
Artzner craft beer has a very long history. It dates back over two centuries. In 1882 to be exact, Pierre Hoeffel founded brewery Perle in Schiltigheim. In 1919: Charles Kleinknecht, brewing engineer, took over the brewery and in 1930, a new brewery was built. Just before the Second World War, production reached 300,000 hectoliters. In 1971, the brewery was closed and the buildings were demolished in the 1980s.

In 2009, Christian Artzner, great-great-grandson of the founder, paid his greatest tribute to this beer by bringing it back to life. In 2015, the Perle brewery officially opened in Strasbourg, at the Plaine des Bouchers, with a brand new production facility and beers "made in Alsace"

5 3 6 2 10 Bottle shared at THT January (Platypus Edition). Hazy golden with floaty chunks and a ring white head. Aroma of herbs, vegetables, burnt sugar. Flavour is heavy sweet. Above medium bodied with soft carbonation. It’s almost like a vegetable mead.

Bottle shared at THT January (Platypus Edition). Almost clear golden with bubbly white head. Red apple, sweet malts, lots of sugar, marzipan, honey, soft smoke, alcohol, vanilla, light milky. Super sweet, light bitter and sour. Full bodied. I actually think his is pretty good if you like sweet honey, flowers and herbs. I happen to do.

bottle from Auchan Illkirch-Graffenstaden. Cloudy pale golden colour, mid-sized stable off-white head. Promising hoppy nose. Full-bodied with an intensive malty start, adding body and a pleasant sweetness. Shy yeasty fruity hints lying underneath. Balanced by a good amount of delicious aromatic hops, fruity and pleasantly resiny and piney. A bitter-sweet beer with a shy fruity touch. Smooth and velvety carbonation. I like the character of this hop a lot, would like to try more of it. Very good beer.

Bottle shared with friends at Diamon D'or. Bit hazy darker golden with white head. Caramel, sweet malts, lychee, very sweet fruits, cardboard, dank weeds, peach, toffee. Quite sweet and under medium bitter. Quite thick feel and over medium bodied. Not their best of the hop series, it's nice and fruity but also very malty and sweet. Still a decent beer though.
