Pours a clear dark yellow/amber with a white head. Aroma of malts, fruits, caramel, light hops. Flavour is malty sweetness, a little alcohol, midly hoppy, with a moderate bitter finish. Decent but mediocre.

Aroma of malts, malts, more malts, some hops. Flavour is malty sweetness, with some hop bitterness in the aftertaste, which is a good thing. Boring but better than most dismal macro Lentebocks.

Bottiglia. All'olfatto si esprimono sentori di sour e di vinoso. L'olfatto viene stimolato in maniera elevata e l'esistenza olfattiva è sufficiente. Il cappello di schiuma resiste poco. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il liquido è di aspetto nuvoloso. Bollicine fini costituiscono la forma del perlage, con carbonazione persistente. Il colore è ambrato carico tendente rossiccio. Il corpo è pieno. L'amaro è contenuto e c'è anche una componente moderatamente acidula. La forza gustativa è elevata. La continuità gustativa è buona. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il finale è bruschino. Il retrogusto è di decente intensità. Al gusto vengono donati sentori di caramello, miele, crosta di pane, frutta secca, agrumi, pompelmo, lampone, ciliegia e vino rosso.

Aroma of artificial raspberries and sugar. Flavour is sickening sugary raspberry sweetness. Absolutely horrendous.

Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, raisins, candy sugar. Flavour is heavy sweet with a light bittersweet finish. Aroma and body are ok, unfortunately the sweetness is overwhelming and cloying. Not for me. **** 26-05-2017 Re-rated as "Gerardus Winterbier". Same annoying unbalanced sweetness.

Aroma of wheat, fruits, citrus, hint of banana, clove. Flavour is moderate sweet with a light bitter finish. Well balanced, easy drinker.

Aroma of dark malt, sugar, hint of roast, raisins, yeast, dark fruity notes. Flavour is medium sweet with a light bittersweet finish. Rather ordinary Dubbel, meaning sweet and dull.

Bottle at home. Aroma of wheat, banana, some citrus, spicy yeast. Flavour is light sweet with a note of wheaty sourness. Body is light to medium. Drinkable and pleasant enough, but also quite mediocre.
