Description
3 Stars Brewing Company is a brewery delivering on the promise of bringing locally hand crafted ales to the DC beer community. The company was founded by Dave Coleman and Mike McGarvey, two longtime friends who decided to seize the opportunity to build a brewery and produce high quality beer in the District of Columbia – hoping to make this world-class city a world-class craft beer destination.

Can at home from Regency hazy orange juice pour. Nose is grapefruit and pineapple. Tastes of thick grapefruit pith, pineapple, light pine, mandarin. Some candy sweetness light but pleasant bitters. Abv is hidden.

Can, from Malt @ Mold. Pours faintly cloudy golden with small frothy whitish head, faint piney aroma, adequate carbonation, mildly bitter citrusy taste with resin flavor, smooth body, long finish. Quite smooth and tasty.

3.99 pint can from Gillys. Hazy pale gold with a soft white head. Aroma is sour citrus, slightly funky. Flavor is somewhat juicy grapefruit, citrus peel, pine, light floral hops, green grass and leaves.

Can from the beer and wine cellar in Rockville. Pours cloudy golden with a large foamy head. Aroma is floral Hops, coriander, hay, light spice. Flavor is a nice slightly sour-slightly spice, citrus peel, yeast, coriander, hay. Nice.

16 oz can poured into a tulip. Canned 4/3/2017, consumed 5/31/2018. 5.7% ABV. Courtesy of a friend, thanks Ben! Mostly clear golden yellow with off-white head. Aromas of lemon, floral notes, light funk. Tastes of tart lemon, floral notes, white wine, a little apple. Light body with a dry finish. Nice dry hopped sour.

16 oz can poured into a willi becher. Canned 4/4/2017, consumed 5/28/2018. Clear reddish amber with light pink head. Aromas of cherries, raisins, dried currants, flowery notes. Tastes of cherries, flowery notes, tart notes, a little raisin and dried currant, a touch of alcohol. Light body with a dry finish. Held up pretty well for a little over a year.
