Description
3 Stars Brewing Company is a brewery delivering on the promise of bringing locally hand crafted ales to the DC beer community. The company was founded by Dave Coleman and Mike McGarvey, two longtime friends who decided to seize the opportunity to build a brewery and produce high quality beer in the District of Columbia – hoping to make this world-class city a world-class craft beer destination.

To date, the brewing team at 3 Stars has released over 200 different distinctive beers and cultivated a reputation for pushing the envelope when it comes to creativity. They have been recognized for their commitment to their craft, and have received multiple awards for their achievements.

Draft at ChurchKey. Cloudy to murky yellow. Nice aroma of mano pineapple guava. Taste is softly sour tropical fruit. Good summer drink.

A hazed blonde ipa with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light grassy hops, light tropical fruits, OK. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light tropical fruits, light mineral notes, pleasant. On tap at Brewer's on the block, DC 2017.

From a shared can at RBESG 2017 - Grand Tasting. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Rather fresh fruity and citrusy aroma with spicy and wheaty notes. Somewhat refreshing but not too convincing. Can. Orange biscuit malt, pine and grapefruit peel aroma. Cloudy golden yellow with nice off-white head. Moderately sweet orange, biscuit malt, and strong bitter grapefruit peel flavor. Good body.

50cl Can at RBESG 17 Grand Tasting. As Citra Lemon Saison. Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of lemon balm, lemon peel, ointment, herbal. Flavour is lemon balm, ointment, spicy, herbal, bitter, fizzy. Light bodied. Not great.

5 3 6 3 11 Can shared at RBESG Grand Tasting ’17 at Sori brewery. Hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of lemon, citrus, herbs and yeast. Flavour is above light sweet. Light bodied with soft carbonation.

(Sample from a 0.473 at RBESG 2017 Grand Tasting) The beer poured pale golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had lemon, citricness and spiciness. Palate was light bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were lemon, citricness, spiciness and bitterness. Aftertaste had lemon. A thin brew but a state tick.
