16 oz can poured into a tulip. Courtesy of a friend, thanks Ben! Canned 4/27/2017. Semi-hazy golden yellow with off-white head. Quite a bit of tiny floating sediment throughout. Aromas of lemon citrus, malt, slightly aged floral notes. Tastes of lemon and grapefruit citrus, floral notes, malt, biscuit. Medium body with a dry finish. Solid collab.

Can (labeled Citra Lemon Saison). Musty yeast, lemon peel, biscuit malt, and dry grass aroma. Cloudy golden yellow with giant/explosive head (took 10-15 minutes to pour full can). Mildly sweet lemon, biscuit malt, yeast, and moderately bitter lemon peel/dry grass flavor. Nice body. A very solid beer. Side note: apparently faulty can tops - both the cans I bought had part of the top bulge up (cans were slightly above room temperature but not hot or shaken - plus no other cans I had at the time did this). Luckily they didn’t break open though. Kind of weird - possibly due to the high carbonation level.

Nice hazy golden and light copper coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of super piney and resinous, very bitter hops with a lot of grass and herbal elements at play, along with a touch of medicinal, bitter scents. Medium-bodied; Extremely bitter, pungent flavour with a lot of very dry, herbal hop flavours along with a grassy, floral bite that lasts for quite a while and is purely one-dimensional. Some malt comes later on with a good balance, but absolutely no sweetness or complexity - this is just about the grassy, bitter hops with dry flavours all around and no depth. Aftertaste shows a good balance, but just very bitter and dry, with almost a pepper like finish with no sweetness, but there is also not much alcohol showing, either. Overall, a decent Imperial IPA that borders on being a traditional IPA, that shows a dry character and a distinct hop bite, but decidedly shows not much else. Nice to try and at least something different from an Imperial IPA! I sampled this sixteen ounce can purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 31-May-2017 for US$4,36, sampled at home in Washington just two weeks later on 16-June-2017.

16oz can pours a star bright, clear gold with some foamy white head that faded quickly. Nose has lemon, both pith and juice, tangerines, some turpentine. Flavor is better, lemon, white orange and white grapefruit, some Vitamin C, spoiled yogurt. Finishes dry, tart, a touch oily. Not bad.

Can into a snifter showing well filtered golden yellow with half a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows tart notes of light lemon and apple. The palate is light bodied and moderately carbonated. Lightly tart with flavors of green apple and a light malt backbone.

The Sampler, NYC can: pours near black with a quickly dissipating beige head. Light chocolate, roasty coffee stuff. Taste is slightly sweet. Roasty. Low bitterness. Easy to drink.

16oz can from Craft Beer Cellar H street pours a translucent purple with a faint ring of pink head. Nose has cherry, cherry pie, cherry candies, cherry cough drops, a little vanilla. Flavor has a touch more complexity, although still plenty of cherry compote, strawberry wine, a little raspberry tea. Finishes slick and oily.
