Description
3 Stars Brewing Company is a brewery delivering on the promise of bringing locally hand crafted ales to the DC beer community. The company was founded by Dave Coleman and Mike McGarvey, two longtime friends who decided to seize the opportunity to build a brewery and produce high quality beer in the District of Columbia – hoping to make this world-class city a world-class craft beer destination.

To date, the brewing team at 3 Stars has released over 200 different distinctive beers and cultivated a reputation for pushing the envelope when it comes to creativity. They have been recognized for their commitment to their craft, and have received multiple awards for their achievements.

Total Wine, Fairfax: pours hazy light orange with a white head. Aroma is lemon peel, tea, spice. Taste is citric. Dry. Lightly bitter. Nice aftertaste. Good finish. Nice.

City tap house, DC tap: pours hazy prange with a white head. Aroma is ambiguous fruit, yeast, and some funk. Taste is surprisingly lacking in peaches as promised. Nice spice and dryness present throughout. Pretty tasty.

Can from Bamsen. Hazy amber, small white froth. Peachy, piny aroma. Similar flavour, quite bitter with decent malt background. Slightly watery but still flavourful.

Can courtesy of Travlr. Poured a hazy light amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is acid citrus, aspirin. The flavour is acid lemon citrus with a crisp, fresh, mineral, tart lemon palate. Light bodied with average carbonation.

The Travlr tasting at ChrisO’s. Thanks to Gene for all the beers and Chris for hosting. Lightly hazy gold beer, small white head. Palate is very light and has a fine crispness. Floral lemon, mildly bitter. Touch of sherbet. Light semi dry finish brings a savoury note. Citric bitter linger.

Cask at Churchkey. Cloudy golden color. Aroma of citrus and light berries. Taste is citrus and light straw. Berries are fading I think.

4 oz pour on cask at ChurchKey. Hazy brownish orange. Aromas of stone fruit, light spices, herbs. Tastes of light black pepper, light berries, citrus, a little aged floral note like a slightly past prime cask. Medium-light body with a dry finish.

Tap. Pours cloudy link lemonade, small light pink head, decent lacing. Aroma is lots of raspberry, stems, wheat, lemon. Flavor is medium tart, raspberry lemonade with a wheat undercurrent. Medium light body. Refreshing.
