On tap at Boundary Stone during DC Beer Week 2014’s Battle of the Barrel event. Pours a murky orange with some bubbly white head. Nose has plenty of hoppy regular Dome, vinous notes, mild fruit, caramel, orange, honey. Flavor is similar, the base Dome is there, malt, orange, pine, caramel, vanilla, fruit, booze. Sticky finish. Solid.

Draft at the second anniversary party at Meridian Pint, as Barrel 1 Keg 2. Dave explained that one keg was his, and one keg was Mike’s, both set aside in a dark but safe corner of the brewery. Deep dark maroon brown color, flat. Nice aroma of vanilla, dark roast coffee, prunes. Taste is smooth plums, coffee, cocoa powder, rich vanilla, light spice. Age has done well by this one. I guess I’m just more patient than some - good things come to he who waits.

Sample at Birch And Barley/Churchkey. Hazy orange-gold color with a medium bone white head that dissipate steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, citrus and roast malt. Medium to full body with flavors of tropical fruit, hops and grainy malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a short fruity hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Light straw with some funk in this. Pours clear holden without any head or lacing, looks a little flat. Light citrus notes here but not very a big palate or a very memorable beer for that matter. Tap at pizza paradiso Georgetown.
