Description
Fallen Angel Brewery was established in East Sussex in 2004 and soon became popular with its unique chilli ales and ciders. Combining the well documented benefits of beer with the nutritional benefits of chilli’s, including boosting circulation, improving heart health and lowering cholesterol not to mention the endorphin rush. Fallen Angel became widely known across the chilli fraternity and beer enthusiasts. It’s tagline being “modern ales- brewed traditionally”, the brewery continued to experiment and expand its range.
In 2012 the brewery closed, and moved to the East of England following a takeover by Broxbourne Brewery which also became the home of Fallen Angel beers. Commenced brewing as Broxbourne Brewery in March 2013, including some Fallen Angel beers. In 2015 the Brewery moved to Essex and the name reverted to Fallen Angel.
Beers made exclusively by Fallen Angel brewery, which were rated and believed discontinued prior to the 2012 takeover by Broxbourne are listed separately under their former East Sussex location.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. An unclear, golden-orange beer with a finger-thick lasting head leaving some lacings. Dusty, milkysour aroma with some lemony fruityness. Milky and sour flavor too, with pale malts and a fine bitterness. Pity the bitterness is almost the only good thing about the flavor. Medium body, dry and fizzy. This one’s off, that’s for sure, still it’s sort of drinkable, if you avoid smelling it when doing so. 110319

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. It pours a clear, amber body and a small, off-white head. The aroma has a lemony sourness and some biscuity malts. The flavor has a sourness I bet isn’t intended. Some maltyness too. Medium body. Well, it drinks easily and quenches the thirst, but I don’t think it’s intentionally sour. 110318

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. It’s a clear, dark golden beer with thin layer of white bubbles. The aroma is like when opening a jar of jalapenos, nothing more. The flavor has sweetness and a fruity touch initially, but then the chili kicks in, as well as a touch of lemony sourness and vinegar. Intense burn in the throat, also spreading all over the mouth. Thin on the palate. Well, it’s sort of nice, but way too intense to be pleasant. 10cl is enough by far. 110318

50cl bottle from the Home Brew Shop, Aldershot. As usual with Fallen Angel this poured cloudy, even with careful handling; the colour is amber with a billowing white head; yeasty aroma; yeasty flavour with some sour fruit; and some toffee towards the finish. Not very pleasant.
