Description
Started brewing in August 2008 on the site of the Sweet William brewery at the William IV pub in Leyton. Regular outlets include the William IV, the Old Coffee House (Soho) and the Crosse Keys (Covent Garden). In 2018 Brodies sold the King William IV in Leyton and contracted out beer production to Rhymney Brewery in South Wales.

Keg at Cotteridge Wines 24th Birthday; clear golden yellow pour with a thin off white head, aroma has citrus and a hint of tea, taste has green tea, citrus ok

On cask at The Old Coffee House, Soho. Pours lightly hazed ruby amber with a white head. Aroma: malty, citrus, caramel, pine. Taste: light to moderate sweet & moderate bitter, dry, red berries, dark berries, caramel. Dry, bitter-ish spicy hops on the finish. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Not your average red IPA

On tap at Coffee House Soho. 4.2% abv Hazy gold amber colour lasting white head. a bit fizzy but some decent citrus fruits come through light bitterness on the finish. but too carbonated. good citrus flavours though.

on tap at Coffee House Soho. Dark brown black colour lasting tan head. some chocolate some coffee. nitro mouthfeel some dryness on the finish. some oatmeal depth some hop. interesting. yes it's got a bit more to it that initial taste. ok. still not my kinda thing.

Cask handpull at Coffee House Soho. black beer lasting tan head. quite a light stout in the mouth. some ash and charcoal but a bit of dark fruit flavour too. light chocolate some molasses and date flavour. quite interesting and plenty of character dry finish.

Cask handpull at Coffee House Soho. Clear gold colour lasting white head. some lemon on the finish. some decent condition. some sweetness from abv. some hop on aroma. reminded me a bit of summer lightning but not as hoppy.

Cask handpull at Coffee House Soho. Clear gold colour lasting white head. Grassy hoppy aroma. some bitterness on the finish very good condition. some golden syrup malt. hops on finish bite a bit a grassy golden ale with a touch of bite.

Cask handpull at Coffee House Soho. Earl grey comes through on aroma and throughout. light orange flavour is pleasant. very drinkable orange flavour. the earl grey is a little funky but got good character and a good moderate bitter finish. entertaining.

Cask @ Cross Keys, Covent Garden, London. Dark clear copper with a small bubbly head. It has some dark berry sweetness to a flattish, uncared for beer on this occasion.
