7.5/10 β€” Appearance 8 Aroma 7 Flavor 7 Texture 8 Overall 8
Purchased in La Mesa, CA at BevMo 10/06. Seems a bit past it’s prime. 22 oz bomber poured dark with tall brown head. The aroma is light and consists of chocolate, coffee and burnt malts. The flavor is big burnt malts and roasted malts. Behind that is coffee, chocolate, caramel and slivers of vanilla. This one ended up with big carbonation and had no sense of the ABV.

8/10 β€” Appearance 8 Aroma 8 Flavor 8 Texture 8 Overall 8
Purchased in La Mesa, CA at BevMo 10/06. Seems a bit past it’s prime. 22 oz bomber poured slightly hazy copper to red/orange and had a fluffy light tan head. The aroma was of sweet caramel, dark fruit, a bit of yeast and sweet pine hops. The flavor is similar to the aroma with caramel and chocolate maltiness, dark fruit and a soft muted pine hoppiness. It sure doesn’t seem like a 10 ABV beer. No sense of the alcohol.

Purchased in La Mesa, CA at BevMo 10/06. 22oz bomber poured out in a nice deep copper color with thin tan head. Light aroma of sweet and roasted malts along with a slight pine and citrus hoppiness. The flavor is big sweet malts to roasted malts to something like vanilla, maple syrup and a vague fruitiness. Nice. In the background is a soft muted hop flavor that sneaks in about midway.

Bomber from Ledgers in Berkely, CA; Nose is flowery and piney hops, clear amber with a big glass-lacing yellowish head, flavor is caramel malts and hops(pine), hops(citrus)and more hops(bitterness), from the medium body, the bitterness lasting with a caramel note into a nice finish! Not quite as hoppy as Hopsicle, but terifically well balanced!

Dark brown colour. Hoppy nose with rich coffee, light wood, and hints of chocolate. Big hop bitterness and light leafy hop flavour accents. Fat and tangy roastiness stings. Brash on the bitterness side, understated on the malt side, this is a more-or-less by-the-numbers impy, well-made but...
