Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours a pale yellow with a slight greenish tinge, minimal almost white head and good lacing. Malts to the fore in the aroma, plus some hints of caramel. In the mouth it is sweet and zesty with a creamy texture. A little bitterness too which gradually increases. Flavour has floral hops and malts with hints of corn, citrus and pine coming later. Finish is somewhat dry. This is decent.

Enjoying this one by the River Calder, 9th last year for most sewage spilled into it by Water companies. Clean water here, nice and hoppy, good head, plenty of body, mild caramels, but provide plenty of flavour.

Cask at Cornerhouse, Chester. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small foamy cream head. There’s smoky bacon and malts in the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet with flavours of dark fruits, coconut and roasted malts. A little underlying bitterness becomes evident later along with hints of vanilla. Finish is slightly dry. This is decent.
