Gravity cask at the 34th Ealing Beer Festival 2025, day one, 09/07/2025.
Golden blonde topped with a white head.
Nose is mellow citric zest, grass, perfume, orange peel.
Taste comprises light breads, melon, floral whisper, bitter orange, straw.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with mellow hop bitterness.
Okay if a little pedestrian to bill itself as an IPA.

Cask at Square Bottle, Chester. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a somewhat frothy almost white head and good lacing. Mainly malts in the aroma plus some hints of floral hops. In the mouth it is sweet, with a decidedly creamy texture and a little underlying bitterness. Flavour has mixed hops, marmalade and grapefruit with traces of honey and mango coming later leading to a fruity finish. It’s not bad at all – though I’m not sure it’s an IPA.

Deadication beer to the singer Donna Summer, died on this day in 2012. It's very much a summer day here in Blackpool with a great vista from the tower - and this beer is perhaps a little heavier than the day allows, not really befitting the sun and heat but full-bodied with a clear strength and mild fruits. Golden with a creamy head.
